ASK QUESTIONS HERE!

Finally we are getting post under control. I know there have been many questions in the past few months on many forums. It has been difficult to keep all the wheels turning when there is so much work to be done but finally the systems are comming together and we can begin manage our time better. I would like our team to be able to manage the process the best way possible and to this end I have created this thread for questions.

The Idea is to Post questions about anything on Spoon in this thread as a comment. We will place responses in the content we upload and make sure we inlcude answers (should we have them) elswhere or in the body of content. This way we can ensure that we know about what people are interested in. Also feel free to let those on other forums know that we would like to centralise this process for efficiency. All questions welcome. Please try not to use this thread for discussion. This "questions list" does not preclude creation of and discussion in any other discussion threads.

Thank you all for your continuing support and interest.

Simon

  • As a film journalist, I was wondering if there a direct email contact for anyone on production itself. Please feel free to contact me nora@moviemaker.com. Thanks.

  • 1. Why is the fact that the SI cam was used on SPOON now ignored by Cineform? On their web page they now claim that SPOON was shot with the JVC GY100U.
    2. Will you use the SI cam again?

  • 1) Because that was a very old posting on the CineForm customer showcase, that was before the SI-1920 was used -- which was nearly exclusively throughout the 260 hours of footage. We will update the CineForm site with more on the Spoon project soon.

  • hello,

I am a beginner videographer and have bought a Canon XH-A1s with the goal of making a documentary or independent film on a religious subject. Can anyone kindly tell me if and if yes, how films can be made with the XH-A1s. I don't have a big budget to work with at the moment and at the moment all I know is to extract MPEG2TS files out of my miniDVs, using Pinnacle (again due to budget issues) - given then restrictions, is that the best possible quality that can be obtained? I am open to spending more if needed, but I am really yearning to know if XH-A1s can offer 'cinematic' quality or if it can upscaled to 'cinematic' quality. It appears I can get at most 40Mbytes/sec data rate out of the miniDV. I've read about 'Crank' being produced using the XH-A1s and would like some advice and direction in this matter, as this religious subject is very close to my heart.
